Hanna Ruminski was born in Poland and since 1981 has resided in Canada. Ruminski holds a Master Degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.
Along with being a participant in many exhibitions, Ruminski's artwork is also found in numerous corporate and private collections in Canada, the United States, Korea and throughout Europe.
Ruminski expresses herself through layers of images, textures, colours, scribbles and letters on canvas. As an Abstract painter, Ruminski works in mixed media on canvas.
Ruminski's earlier works were inspired by her children's drawings, their "scribbles" describing their world with pure intuition and playfulness. Her latest paintings are inspired by the urban landscape with its motives, energy and spontaneity. Handwritings, notes, and markings have a reoccurring presence in her art. Ruminski's voice as an artist draws attention to absence of humanism in personal communication in the midst of technological social network.
