BIOGRAPHY
Voeikoff-Erens uses urban weekly free newspapers along with many layers of paint as his medium. Going beyond the frame of the traditional canvas, he uses these magazines to create the structure of his paintings. . The newspaper becomes the subjectmatter; both as subject and object upon which to paint. The painting derives its meaning by what happens to the paper and what remains when all the painting is done. A painting that is not a newspaper but embodies it within. Voeikoff-Erens' paintings are sculptural, reversible andmalleable.
Voeikoff-Erens questions the view by asking "why should we down grade our three-dimensional experience to two-dimensions?"
