Click on the link below to watch a stunning video piece by Brad Kremer featuring Michael Levin at work creating his photographs in Japan.  Brad Kremer is based in Savannah, Georgia and regularly shoots for Nike and Burton Snowboards, often using very creative time-lapse photography to give his work a kinetic pacing. Brilliant. The feature video Kremer and Levin shot together is a stylized view of how Levin makes his way through Japan. Enjoyed best at full screen.

Shawna Patenaude will be having a solo exhibition at the Skylight Gallery on the top floor of the Aurora Town Hall on October 3rd, 2011.  The show will continue until the end of October.

In this luxurious large format volume, Linda Rutenberg's more than one hundred full-color photographs perfectly capture the gardens in all their seasonal splendor. I Am My Family, Rafael Goldchain
Photographic Memories and Fictions

Rafael Goldchain's I Am My Family: Photographic Memories and Fictions is a family album of traditional portrait photographs with an unconventional twist: the only subject is Goldchain himself. In an elaborate process involving genealogical research, the use of makeup, hair styling, costume, and props, Goldchain transforms himself into his ancestors and captures their personifications with the camera. Taking some liberties with historical accuracy, Goldchain has assembled a fascinating cast of characters: from his short-story-writing grandfather, to his great-aunts Pola and Fela, to the Gur Rabbi's nephew and his bride Rachelle, Goldchain reinvents himself over and over again.
